In the future Scouting will continue to

  • Offer young people responsible fun adventures
  • Instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law
  • Train young people in citizenship, service, and leadership
  • Serve America's communities and families with its quality, values-based program.

PURPOSE

ADVANCEMENTS BY MAIL

If your unit has difficulties in reaching the service center to pick-up unit advancements, either due to distance or time constraints, then please take note. To help all units to be able to stay current with their advancement needs, the council can fill your unit's order and ship it directly to your unit. To further aid units, council will ship one order of advancements per month to each unit, free of shipping charges. Shipping charges will be added to each additional order per month beyond the initial order. These charges typically range from $.60 - $3.00 depending in the size of the order.

A unit must still submit completed advancement reports for the following:

  • Tiger Cub Rank
  • Bobcat Rank
  • Wolf Rank
  • Bear Rank
  • Webelos Rank
  • Arrow of Light
  • Boy Scout Badge
  • Tenderfoot Rank
  • Second Class Rank
  • First Class Rank
  • Star Rank
  • Life Rank
  • Merit Badges, plus blue cards
  • Eagle Palms, plus Eagle Palm Applications

To expedite orders though, copies and faxes of these documents are acceptable until the unit can submit the originals to council.

Council must have a complete payment for the advancement order before it will be shipped out. The unit can send a check, use its unit account or a credit card.

When submitting an order, please remember that it will take at least one business day from the time the order reaches the service center, until it is shipped out again. If submitting by mail or fax, please be sure to indicate:

  • That it is an order to be filled
  • The address it should be shipped to
  • Any items that are listed, but that you do not need.

Orders may be sent to the service center by:
