ANTIETAM NATIONAL PARK

May 2-4 2008

Come join us for an exciting Council Camporee at Antietam National Park. Download the flyer and reservation form.

Scouts will learn about the battle while taking guided driving tour with our group, which is the best way to see the park. The tour road is 8 1/2 miles long and has 11 stops along the way.

Antietam National Park is the place where The Bloodiest One Day Battle in American History was held. Approximately 23,000 soldiers were killed, wounded or missing after twelve hours of savage combat on September 17, 1862. The Battle of Antietam ended the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia’s first invasion into the North and led to Abraham Lincoln’s issuance of the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation.

Susquehanna Council will secure bus transportation during this trip for your unit and its' gear.
